Greetings from the Worshipful Master

As many of you have already paid your dues for 2017, you know there is now an assessment of $5 that goes towards the Almoner’s Fund. The Almoner’s Fund is dedicated to our obligation to aid and assist all worthy distressed Brother Master Masons, their widows, and orphans. As Worshipful Master I sincerely thank you for being timely in paying your dues and contributing that portion to the Almoner’s Fund. At the end of 2016 the Fund disbursed half of its proceeds by lodge vote to two worthy brethren who needed the assistance the Fund was designed for. Any member, widow or dependent child may apply to the Lodge for assistance through a Member or the District Deputy in confidence. The Almoner, Brother Joel Leone, will decide to make a recommendation for a monetary grant or refer the applicant to the appropriate committees of the Lodge or to possible resources available through the Grand Lodge such as the Masonic Outreach Program.

Our lodge contributes or participates in several other Grand Lodge programs as well including Help for Our Hero’s, the Blood and Organ Donor Club and the Masonic Charities Fund. Members take part in the Master Builder’s Award and the Membership Incentive Program. We are a very active Lodge that provides dinners at Stated Meetings, a Thunder in the Valley event and the First Responders' Banquet plus other activities we help with including Chicken and Biscuit dinners, work days and other special events. Many of us serve on the Temple Board and are active in other Masonic Bodies. Please join us; I am sure there is someplace you will fit in. Come enjoy the time spent with your brethren helping your lodge and the future of Masonry in Johnstown. Please support your lodge by paying your dues soon including the Almoner’s Fund assessment. If you do need help this year with your dues please let us know and it can be taken care of in advance of us contacting you.

Fraternally,

Ricky L. Fetzer, WM
